National Fitness Day with Winvic

As part of Winvic’s 25th anniversary celebrations, and their annual National Fitness Day challenge, Winvic and its partners have raised an incredible £25,000 for Restore Northampton.

We are hugely grateful to everyone who has donated, fundraised and supported the campaign.

The timing of this support matters. Government crisis funding is changing, with the Household Support Fund moving into the new Crisis and Resilience Fund, while local families continue to need help with essentials such as food, nappies, cots, buggies and clothing.

Through Growbaby, Restore supports families with babies and young children who are experiencing financial hardship or crisis. Last financial year, 361 families received support through the project.

That support can mean nappies to get through the week, a safe cot and mattress for a baby, a buggy to get to appointments, or clothing and other essentials when money is already stretched.

Our Northampton Food Bank also continues to provide emergency food and household essentials to people facing crisis across the town.

For Restore, practical help is often the first step. It gives us the opportunity to welcome people in, build trusted relationships and connect them with further advice and support that can help them move towards greater stability and independence.

Next week, Winvic’s celebrations continue with a 5-a-side football tournament and a 25-hour charity fitness challenge.

The wider challenge will also support Marie Curie, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity, Dementia UK and Be More Fab.
