Northampton Food Bank Impact: Supporting Local Households
It has been another busy few months for Northampton Food Bank, as we continue to provide essential food and practical support to individuals and families across our local community.
Looking at the numbers
Between April and June 2026, we provided 306 food parcels over 13 sessions. This included people from a range of different households, from individuals living alone to families needing a little extra support during a difficult time.
Looking back at the same period in 2025, 281 food parcels were provided. Which means this year there has been an increase of 25 households, or around 9% more than the same period last year.
As the number of households needing support increases, so does the demand on our Food Bank. Keeping our shelves stocked with essential items is vital in helping us respond to each referral and provide people with the practical support they need.
More than a food parcel
The support we provide goes beyond food alone. Where available, households can also request essential toiletries and basic cleaning products, helping to ease the pressure of everyday necessities on already stretched household budgets. But just as important as the practical support we offer is how we offer it.
Our aim is to ensure that everyone who comes through our doors is welcomed and supported with dignity, kindness and compassion.
Each Food Bank session is made possible by a team of people working together, from sorting and organising donations to preparing parcels and welcoming those who come through our doors.
We are incredibly grateful to our staff and volunteers who give their time and energy, as well as the individuals, churches, businesses, community groups and organisations who continue to donate food, toiletries, cleaning products and financial support.
Thank you to everyone who makes Northampton Food Bank what it is. Your generosity enables us to continue responding to needs and making a meaningful difference to people across our community.
