Community Fun Day 2026

On Saturday 13th June, Restore Northampton and Central Vineyard Church were delighted to welcome our community for another fantastic Community Fun Day, and what a day it was!
With the help of 45 incredible volunteers, we welcomed over 406 guests through our doors for an afternoon filled with fun, friendship, food and community.
From the moment people arrived, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Families explored 25 different activities spread across five exciting spaces, including two hugely popular craft areas, games, creative activities and a beautiful sensory room that offered a calm and welcoming space for children and families to enjoy together.
One of the highlights of the day was giving away 200 free Mario's ice creams, each exchanged for a token sharing why we were "loving our neighbours." We were especially impressed that only one ice cream was dropped all afternoon!
Our talented face painters transformed the day for more than 150 children, creating everything from colourful butterflies and superheroes to magical creatures and sparkling designs.
Meanwhile, our amazing café team kept everyone fueled with 220 hot dogs alongside over 200 pieces of delicious homemade cake and flapjack, all served with smiles and plenty of conversation.
The best part? Every single guest who gave feedback rated the event positively. We were thrilled to be able to invite families to stay connected through future events, activities and our regular services, helping relationships continue long after the day itself.
Events like this simply wouldn't happen without the generosity and dedication of so many people.
A massive thank you goes to every volunteer and everyone who contributed behind the scenes and on the day. Whether you baked, organised, welcomed guests, ran activities, painted faces, served refreshments, befriended families, prayed, helped with set-up and pack-down, or shared your creative gifts in countless other ways, thank you.
We are also incredibly grateful for our partnership with Central Vineyard Church. Together, we were able to create a space where people of all ages felt welcomed, valued and part of something special.
Community Fun Day is about much more than games and activities. It's about creating opportunities for people to connect, belong and experience kindness in practical ways. Seeing hundreds of people laughing, talking, making memories and enjoying time together was a wonderful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together.
