Volunteers are an important part of Restore Northampton. They work alongside staff and other volunteers to help people feel valued, noticed and included, and to support our projects and activities.
Volunteer roles are flexible and vary according to the project, current needs, your skills and interests, your availability and the suitability of the role. Some roles involve working directly with people; others provide practical, administrative or behind-the-scenes support.
Current Volunteer Vacancies
Restore Northampton is eagerly seeking volunteers to boost our thriving Growbaby Team, with opportunities behind the scenes, sorting baby clothes and toys and making our boutique welcoming and inviting, as well as front facing roles in Growbaby and Family Nest supporting families with babies and children up to 5 years.
However, Restore Northampton would accept applications for a wide range of roles within the charity, including behind the scenes and up-front support. Please check out the rest of the website for more information on the projects if you wish to express an interest in a particular area.
Volunteer roles are all based in Central Northampton at 42 Sheep Street, NN1 2LZ apart from the Allotment which is in Abington.
With the exception of Streets, all projects operate between Mon-Thu, 9am-3pm. However there are occasional opportunities for evenings/weekends, both behind-the-scenes such as sorting donations, or representing the charity at events.
Most volunteering opportunities are for up to 3 hours, preferably weekly (although we also invite a conversation around more flexible volunteering roles). We do not limit how many projects volunteers are involved in, and some very keen volunteers commit to a different role over each day of the week.
Induction, training and support will be provided related to the volunteer role. Reimbursement for costs incurred through volunteering such as travel/parking can be arranged if this is required, as so far as budgets are available.
