Re:store provides people with emotional and practical support at the points of crisis, and empowers them to address the underlying causes of poverty. The projects create opportunities for individuals and families to belong and build community. We believe that restoration and hope begins with relationship. |
The projects range from emergency provisions of food and necessities for those in economic hardship, to longer term support work and community activities. Re:store reaches out to support, encourage, and empower those who find themselves on the margins.
Re:store covers the Borough of Northampton (NN1-NN5) but works in closely with charities in the wider area including the West Northants Food Aid Alliance (LINK). Re:store has a strong ethos of partnership working and is always keen for collaborative approaches to seeing renewal in Northampton. |
OUR STORYRe:store’s initial project, Northampton Food Bank was established by Central Vineyard Church in 2009.
This birthed the outreach of the church that desires to make a difference with acts of compassion, kindness and love. In the first year 35 bags of food were distributed, but since 2013 an average of 4,000 adults and children are supported through Northampton Food Bank each year |
OUR MOTIVATION The team at Re:store are motivated by the Biblical call to demonstrate God’s love through acts of kindness. The Christian faith encourages those following it to show love, acceptance and mercy to all people in all circumstances, without judging and to stand up for what is right. Micah 6:8 states that the Lord calls us to ‘act justly, love mercy and to walk humbly with our eyes on God’. Re:store is inclusive, welcoming and open to all - not at all dependent on faith. We celebrate diversity and seek to bring unity. |
OUR FOCUSRe:store Northampton has a wide range of projects that focus on building community and strengthening families, which in turn contribute to our main aim of reducing the impact of poverty within the town and improving health and wellbeing.
Through partnership working, with beneficiaries and local agencies, Re:store has always been able to adapt to address the emerging needs within the town. The hope is to contribute to thriving communities, where people belong and are empowered. |
OUR IMPACTRe:store Northampton is well known and loved by the community, and has a significant impact upon the town.
